Current Update in Valuations Commission (CUV)

In January 2026, NACVA decided to stop producing a static Current Update in Valuations (CUV) course where the training was being updated once a year for a much more dynamic and practical approach. This newly defined method to teaching a CUV program speaks to the ever-expanding number of new topics being introduced in the industry and provide a broad range of topics to better address the diversity of practices and specializations of our membership. To oversee the new CUV program, we have established the CUV Commission whose role is to manage the development and maintenance of a vast library of topics the Commission deems to be timely and important enough for inclusion in the Current Update Library (CUL). The CUL is an extension of NACVA’s 900+ previously recorded webinars known as CPE On-Demand, which is where the courses are selected by the Commission. Most every webinar in the CUL was created within the last two years. The specific duties of the Commission are as follows:
  1. Oversee the determination of what courses will fall under the current update umbrella, reviewing lists of courses submitted to it by NACVA HQ monthly. Courses approved will receive the “CUV Seal of Approval”, will be flagged in HQ’s marketing as such, and where members can sort on CUV-approved programs in structuring their training plans. We expect the library will hold between 25–40 courses.
  2. On an ongoing basis as courses transition to being 12 months or older, if they have become less relevant, the Commission will determine if the course should remain in the CUL or be updated. Getting courses updated will be HQ’s responsibility.
  3. The Commission regularly reviews the industry landscape to determine if there are topics not in HQ’s CUL that should be and advise HQ accordingly. Either HQ will find someone to develop such course or members of the Commission can volunteer to develop and teach the course themselves.
  4. At NACVA’s annual Business Valuation and Financial Litigation Super Conference and periodically throughout the year, NACVA will sponsor a live eight-hour CUV course. Each of these trainings will be customized drawing from courses in the CUL. To teach the different segments of the customized CUV course, HQ can contract with the original author, find a new person to present, or Commission members can volunteer to teach one or more segments of the live training.
The CUV Commission is comprised of volunteers and report directly to HQ. If you are interested in participating, please e-mail NACVA’s Director of Educational Enrichment, DianaR1@NACVA.com.
