Program Description
This practical tour shows you how to get the most from ValuSource Market Comps, ValuSource M&A Comps, and Guideline Public Company Data—including new features, data insights, and best practices to strengthen your use of comparable transactions in valuation work.

These three ValuSource databases make using comparable transactions faster, more consistent, and more defensible—and this session will show exactly how they compare to other data sources and help you gain deeper insights from your comps.

How You Will Benefit
After completing this course, attendees will be able to:

  • Utilize the new Multiple Attribute Ranked Search (MARS) tool for statistical selection, along with saved queries, enhanced NAICS/SIC and Boolean searches, improved layouts, expanded download limits, and built-in analyzers like the Direct Market Data Method (DMDM), Transaction Analysis, and the Summary Market Method to quickly develop market-based values. (ValuSource Market Comps [49,000 transactions, mostly under $2 million])
  • Determine what data is available, where it comes from, and how to search, filter, and refine your results. Learn to correctly handle asset vs. stock sales and use the Excel Analyzer to interpret and apply results. (ValuSource M&A Comps [17,000 transactions from $1–250 million])
  • Identify and search for comparable companies and download annual, quarterly, YTD, and TTM financial statements—including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow, and ratios—and view multiples for any date within the past 13 years. (Guideline Public Company Data [10,900 companies])

Who Should Attend
This webinar is designed for business valuation professionals who rely on comparable transaction data in applying the market approach. It is especially beneficial for valuation analysts, appraisers, CPAs, financial consultants, and advisors who use—or are considering using—ValuSource Market Comps, ValuSource M&A Comps, and Guideline Public Company Data in their work.
