Program Description

Medical practice valuation has always been complex. With the passing of the Affordable Care Act; the 10th update to the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems; the enforcement of the Stark Laws; and anti-kickback statutes, it now presents increased challenges. This course will present an overview of the healthcare economy, a discussion of the impact of buy/sell agreements, goodwill and the double dip on valuation, and the forensic procedures necessary to complete these valuations.

Learning Objectives

After completing this webinar, attendees will be able to:

- Identify the top issues with respect to medical accounts receivable that impact valuations
- Recognize the coding analysis necessary for a physician practice valuation
- Determine practice performance
- Use MGMA data for benchmarking physician compensation and financial statement benchmarks
- Identify the relevance of the Anti-Kickback Statute and the Stark Laws

Who Should Attend

Financial professionals with an interest in healthcare valuation
