Program Description:
As client expectations continue to evolve, Certified Valuation Analysts (CVAs) are increasingly expected to deliver insights in ways that are not only accurate, but also interactive, accessible, and engaging. Traditional static reports, while essential, are no longer sufficient on their own to differentiate a practice or support efficient client onboarding. This two-hour course provides a practical introduction to how CVAs can enhance their service offerings by building simple, client-facing digital tools using a combination of Excel, basic HTML/JavaScript, and no-code platforms. The focus is not on programming theory, but on real-world application; showing participants how to turn familiar financial data into usable, web-based assets. Participants will learn how to create an interactive dashboard that communicates key financial insights clearly and effectively. The course will also demonstrate how to build practical calculators—such as business valuation estimators or financial scenario tools—that can be embedded on a firm’s website to increase engagement and generate prospective client interest. In addition, the course will guide attendees through the development of a client assessment tool that can be used for lead qualification and onboarding. This type of tool allows CVAs to gather structured information in advance, improving efficiency while creating a more professional client experience. No advanced coding experience is required. Attendees will leave with working examples, templates, and a clear framework for implementing these tools within their own practices.
Takeaways Attendees will leave with practical, ready-to-use frameworks for building dashboards, calculators, and client assessment tools that can be deployed on their websites. They will gain the ability to transform existing financial data into interactive assets that enhance client communication and streamline onboarding. Participants will also understand how to implement these tools using accessible technologies without requiring advanced programming skills.
After completing this course, you will be able to:
- Identify how to create an interactive HTML-based dashboard using financial data relevant to valuation
- Recognize methods for organizing spreadsheet-based analysis into web-friendly visual tools
- Determine how to test client-facing calculators that demonstrate valuation concepts and generate engagement
- Determine how and then design a structured client assessment tool for onboarding and lead qualification
- Recognize how basic HTML and JavaScript can enhance functionality without advanced coding
- Select no-code and low-code platforms to deploy tools efficiently
- Determine how digital tools can support business development and client experience
- Select practical workflows to integrate these tools into an existing valuation practice
