Program Description:
It is critical to recognize the risks associated with securing a 10-year SBA loan with a low debt service coverage ratio (DSCR). This can severely constrain the business's finances for years, leading to significant cash flow issues and ultimately resulting in failed acquisitions.
This session will present compelling examples and provide essential information to ensure that small business valuations remain realistic and bankable. It is time to change the narrative and approach valuations with a more pragmatic mindset. Many deals fall through because of the overvaluation of small businesses valued under $10 million. Acquisitions of this size often depend on bank financing, and the valuation is frequently unrealistic for banks. As a result, business owners may hold firm on their inflated valuation, preventing the sale from going through.
This session will showcase several examples and provide reliable information to help avoid setting unbankable or unrealistic valuations for small businesses.
After completing this course, you will be able to:
- Determine how to manage and valuate small businesses, making it a bankable deal
- Identify a realistic value for current owners to increase the realistic transfer of the business
- Determine a viable path for owners' estate planning
- Recognize how to value small businesses effectively, transforming them into bankable opportunities
- Determine a realistic value for current owners
- Identify how to illustrate a smooth transfer of the business
- Select a solid strategy for owners' estate planning
