Program Description:
This session documents, presents, and critiques the audited balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, footnotes, and ancillary reports of the published financial statements from the Treasury and OMB. These documents reflect the insolvent financial condition of the United States (U.S.) over the last 10 fiscal years. A detailed analysis will reveal and examine the revenue (taxation), expenditures, and related categories necessary to assess the financial performance of our federal decision-makers.
The analysis includes both traditional and contemporary methods that attendees will find similar to their own analysis of public and private financial statements. This will allow attendees to apply these techniques to their own valuation, litigation, and forensic assignments.
Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the U.S.'s financial condition, its related weaknesses, and essential remedies, which will enhance their ability to communicate effectively with elected and bureaucratic decision-makers, particularly regarding spending and taxation.
After completing this course, you will be able to:
- Recognize the gravity of the U.S.'s insolvent condition
- Determine the likelihood of legislative actions that will increase Americans' egregious tax burden
- Identify the composition of the U.S.'s taxation and spending patterns
- Identify the sources of federal revenues in comparison to spending
- Select the proper methods of forensic analysis
