Program Description:
This session will discuss the premise that pre-revenue start-ups, start-ups in ramp-up stages, and fledgling new enterprises in the highly volatile and ever-changing marijuana industry need to align their organizations and team members with the overriding interests of ownership and third-party capital providers. To avoid being disrupted and to become a survivor or disruptor, it is crucial to know your critical numbers, teach and coach the team to prioritize and focus on these numbers, and reward them to drive the value and return on investment (ROI) of the marijuana enterprise.
The following will be presented and discussed:
- Historical changes and turbulence in the cannabis industry
- Expected future volatility and accelerated disruption
- The importance of marijuana valuation and value driver key performance indicators (KPIs) dashboard modeling
- An overview of the 4-pillar foundation for global and local value driver alignment
- KPIs for both global and local levels within the 4-pillar framework
After completing this course, you will be able to:
- Recognize the valuation opportunity-expected growth, hurdles, risks, and considerations to building and monitoring cannabis enterprise value KPI dashboard models
- Recognize the rapidly growing, ever-changing dynamic of the industry and appreciate the unique systemic and "unsystemic" risk drivers
- Identify the cannabis-specific value driver KPI's
- Determine whether to make the investment of time and resources to become a cannabis "financial expert" and serve the possible litigation and expert witness consulting demand that is increasing
