Presenter: Jeff Harwell
Program Description:
As a business valuation expert, we tend to focus on the Finance element of operations while not considering the other elements that are present in a business. Areas that are often overlooked include the operational elements of Customer, Workforce, Production, and Sales & Marketing that make up the business operation. In this course, Jeff Harwell explores the operational perspective of a business valuation by exploring these areas of operations and discussing what he sees as challenges in the valuation field, which include a general weakness of process and difficulties in reconciliation of indicated values. Additionally, Harwell explores the importance of being a consultant in addition to a valuator, including the importance of performing research on a prospective client's operation, and the importance of performing site tours that will provide insight in the valuation process.
After completing this course, you will be able to:
- Recognize the importance of being a consultant in addition to a business valuator
- Differentiate yourself from your competitors
- Identify how best to engage a client
- Recognize the five operational elements and what elements are often overlooked
