Program Description:
Valuing general partner private equity and hedge fund interests is complex in and of itself. These complexities morph into major challenges in litigation when the expert witness is retained by the non-business owner party. You will hear real world experiences describing the difficulties and challenges business valuation experts face in such circumstances.
After completing this course, attendees will be able to:
- Identify how to assist retaining counsel in requesting needed document production
- Determine how to help retaining counsel respond to objections to producing documents, including objections by the party to the litigation as well as counsel for the business entity
- Determine how to help retaining counsel respond to Motions to Quash subpoenas for document production, and how to assist in Motions to Compel document production
- Identify the structure of private equity and hedge fund entities and the intricacies involved in valuing private equity and hedge fund general partner interests
