Program Description:
While the global economy is on a path to recovery from COVID-19, many challenges remain that may significantly impact valuations performed at year-end 2021. The resurgence of COVID-19 cases due to the Delta variant have contributed to additional global supply disruptions that prevent the delivery of goods to meet pent-up demand from consumers. These supply chain bottlenecks, combined with labor shortages, have placed significant upward pressure on prices. Inflation has climbed significantly and may affect profit margins in 2022, depending on whether companies can pass through price increases to their customers. It may also lead to central banks hiking interest rates earlier than anticipated, leading to a potentially higher cost of capital.
After completing this course, you will be able to:
- Identify how the latest real GDP growth estimates for the U.S., Eurozone and the Global Economy can affect a company's projected revenue growth
- Determine the impact of supply chain disruptions and labor shortages on the projected cost structure of companies
- Determine the effect of recent inflationary trends on a company's projected profit margins as well as on discount rates
