Program Description:
In this session, the presenter will discuss the recently published article in the academic journal Business Horizons that examined the effects of the Global Financial Crisis on exit deal structures. Attendees will gain insight about the following questions that they and their clients may be wondering about selling a business during or after the pandemic: Does a seller accept a lower price and less favorable terms after a crisis? Does the amount of seller financing increase after a crisis? Does waiting to sell improve deal terms? Does reducing information asymmetry improve seller deal terms? The presenter will also discuss strategies for small business owners wanting to exit their companies during and after times of crisis to improve transaction success.
After completing this course, you will be able to:
- Identify how crisis events and uncertainty may affect deal terms
- Determine strategies to reduce information asymmetry and improve deal terms for their clients
