Virtual Super Conference—First Quarter 2020
NACVA and the CTI’s Business Valuation and Financial Litigation Virtual Super Conference
Diana Ridgeway
NACVA’s Director of Education Enrichment
Business valuation, financial litigation, and other business consultants are central to supporting businesses both large and small to navigate through challenging times where extreme circumstances, out of our control, could significantly impact the financial health and continuity of businesses and the greater global economy. Crucial and timely continuing education and resources will be necessary for the global business valuation and financial litigation community to employ to better serve their clients during the midst of and aftermath of this global crisis.
Offering a Dynamic and Engaging Virtual Online Super Conference
NACVA and the CTI’s 2020 Business Valuation and Financial Litigation Super Conference—the first major event in 2020 serving the global business valuation and financial litigation profession—will not be cancelled.
Short and long term COVID-19 repercussions are uncertain. Therefore, we are increasing our resources, technology, and planned support to conference faculty and attendees to carry out a dynamic and engaging Virtual Online Super Conference.
Conference attendees will be able to view all conference sessions online—from the comfort and safety of their home or office—and can earn NASBA compliant CPE credit(s). The Consultants’ Training Institute (CTI)—NACVA’s training partner—is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education (CPE) on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors.
The CTI has maintained sponsorship and compliance to NASBA’s standards for issuing Group Internet Based CPE credit for many years through webinars and live broadcasts. We have been broadcasting our conferences to an online audience since 2015 and, therefore, are thoroughly prepared to move to a virtual model that will provide many of the same benefits as being onsite.

Virtual Networking at Your Fingertips
Our Super Conference, scheduled June 15–19, 2020, will not be a series of webinars but instead a virtual conference with many of the same opportunities available as if you were attending in person.
We realize that learning new information and tools is only one vital aspect of the NACVA/CTI conferences. The other important factor is the ability to network with exhibitors, presenters, and other attendees to enhance your conference experience. Therefore, we are partnering with other organizations to provide an online platform to make your networking endeavors a success. You will have the opportunity to connect with other attendees, schedule meetings with them one-on-one, meet and view demos from our exhibitors, participate in roundtables, and engage with presenters. You will have one central source to all these connections as well as access to build your schedule, connect to sessions, download materials, and fill out evaluations. Our goal is for attendees to feel engaged and connected to those around them.
Enhanced Benefits
We are also excited for the opportunity this gives us to enhance the conference experience by extending it across multiple days allowing for individuals to attend more sessions. We will offer four tracks on Monday and Thursday, and three tracks on Tuesday and Friday, with Wednesday remaining as our recertification day with Industry Standards and Ethics and Current Update in Valuations.
Before, the maximum amount of CPE that could be earned for the main conference days was 26 hours of CPE. Now, attendees can earn up to 34 hours of CPE, and more if purchasing either of the courses on Wednesday. This gives you more flexibility to spread your learning over the week—earning more CPE—while also being able to listen in on topics that otherwise may have conflicted with attending another session of interest.
Can’t attend the conference in June? Well you will have another opportunity to attend a live, repeat of the virtual Super Conference the week of August 3–7 with all the same capabilities of viewing sessions and networking with other attendees and presenters.
Wait, there’s more. Don’t have the time to commit to sitting through sessions for an entire week? We have you covered. This year we are offering the option to purchase sessions a la carte. If there is just one track you want to attend, or a variety of sessions mingled throughout the week that pique your interest, you can purchase them individually and will be provided access to those specific sessions.
All of us at NACVA and the CTI are quite excited about this new model of providing a virtual super conference at a time when people are eager for new online learning and discovering effective ways to better serve their clients during these challenging times. While we will miss being able to visit with you in-person, we are excited to have the opportunity to still stay connected in this virtual model. We hope that you will join us!
