NACVA Association News
Outstanding Members In Memoriam
NACVA would like to recognize the outstanding members we lost in the past year:

John Davis
John D. Davis, CPA, ABV, CVA, CFE
John D. Davis was a Certified Public Accountant, Accredited in Business Valuation by the American Institute of CPA's, a Certified Valuation Analyst by the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts, and a Certified Fraud Examiner by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. He founded Davis & Company, CPA's in 1988.

A graduate of Miami University, John passed the CPA exam in 1986 and quickly began his career in specializing in taxation and accounting for small businesses and individuals. After stops at two large firms, he set out on his own forming the firm that is now known as Davis & Company.

With extensive accounting, tax and consulting experience and training, he began to develop niche specialties which include business valuation and forensic accounting. Because of these skills and experience, he is in high demand for dealing with business acquisitions and sales.

Business valuation and related consulting became his cornerstone with the firm. In addition to preparing business valuation reports, John was active in litigation support in the areas of business valuation, economic damages and forensic accounting. He also had extensive experience in pricing, negotiating and structuring business transactions relating to purchases, sales and mergers. Because of his diverse background in business valuation and related theory, he was able to provide consulting services regarding general business planning.

John had an extensive speaking background presenting seminars for accountants and non-accountants on matters pertaining to all aspects of small business enterprises. Some of the groups for which he has presented include: The Ohio Society of CPA's, The Cleveland Accounting Show, NACVA Ohio Chapters, The Metro Crime Bureau, Ohio Business Brokers Association, Ohio Security Professionals, and many others.

Jason McCainJason McCain, CPA, CVA, MAFF, CFE
Jason was a Manager in Valuation, Forensic Accounting, and Litigation Services at Johnson Price Sprinkle PA. His primary focus was in business valuation, forensic accounting, litigation support, financial analysis, and consulting services for attorneys, businesses, and individuals. Jason held the Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) designation and the Master Analyst in Financial Forensics (MAFF) designation from the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts, as well as the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designation from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

He performed business valuations in a diverse range of industries including oil and gas, marine transportation, construction, automotive, commercial banking, retail, health care, video gaming, hospitality, and professional service firms, among others. Jason's experience also included litigation support services requiring the analysis and quantification of economic damages in complex matters involving, but not limited to, business interruption or destruction, employee fraud and embezzlement, breach of contract, bankruptcy fraud, asset tracing, personal injury, and wrongful death.
