CEO's Message—First Quarter 2023 | How to Become Famous?
How to Become Famous?
Parnell Black, MBA, CPA, CVA
NACVA's Chief Executive Officer
If that is what you want, NACVA is your best friend. NACVA is at the heart of the business valuation and financial forensics professions; everything circles around us. I know this sounds bold and braggadocious, but it is simply a fact. Our competitors know it and the business valuation world knows it. We were not only instrumental in the early beginnings of the profession, bringing it exposure, legitimacy, and thought leadership, we have maintained a steady pace pushing ourselves and the profession forward for 32 years. Many careers have flourished on NACVA’s backbone and, likewise, we have flourished on the backs of hundreds, even thousands of members who have supported us. NACVA’s leadership has delivered the profession hundreds of training programs, half a dozen software tools, a few dozen databases, two credentials—the CVA and MAFF accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) (the CVA is also accredited by the ANSI National Accreditation Board [ANAB])—and many, many highly successful members.
The common denominator amongst the majority of highly successful members is they are or have been actively involved in NACVA. Many in our training programs, which, though not the only way, is a pathway to notoriety. Teaching/educating is the fast path to becoming known in our Association, and often leads to presenting for other local or national organizations. It builds one’s knowledge and confidence, aligns one’s thinking, which leads to speaking fluently on any aspect of the discipline, and a convincing and winning pitch when speaking to prospective referral sources and clients. Teaching/presenting on NACVA’s stage is something to consider in your pursuits to build your practice and career.
At NACVA, however, we find that all paths lead to a brighter future, and there are many ways to get involved. Click here to learn more about our Support Groups and to fill out our NACVA Support Group application, which is your way to let me and our team at HQ know how and where you want to get involved. We will do our best to make it happen because our number one priority is to help our members build better, happier and fulfilling, financially rewarding, and more satisfying careers.
Thank you for your support and we look forward to getting to know you better.
