Program Description
With mergers and acquisitions (M&A) on a dramatic rise, all business advisors need a fundamental understanding of the issues characteristic to lucrative M&A advisory services. In this introductory webinar, practitioners will learn about the foundations crucial to M&A activity as found in the middle market ($1mm $250mm).
Subjects covered will include common valuation approaches in the real deal world; preliminary target due diligence; funding sources/venture capital in M&A; negotiation strategies and the M&A auction marketplace; buyer and seller motivations, types, and perspectives; typical deal structures; and financing and mechanisms.
In addition to acquiring a full appreciation for the complexities inherent in M&A, attendees to this course will be better prepared to advise clients when and where M&A is a viable strategic alternative, and be in a position to counsel their client through the process.

Enrique Brito, MBA, CFA, CVA, CM&AA, CMAP Mr. Enrique Brito is a partner at Tatum, LLC, where he leads their corporate advisory services practice, focusing on advising middle market business owners on the implementation of exit strategies or growth plans requiring acquisitions and/or external funding. Mr. Brito has more than 20 years of corporate finance and investment banking experience involving transactions in the U.S., Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia, Argentina, and Peru. On behalf of the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA), he lectures on M&A and business valuation to national audiences (named Instructor of Great and Exceptional Distinction from 2003 to 2010).
Mr. Brito previously was a senior managing director at The McLean Group, a national investment bank and a Principal and Founder at Kaizen Consulting Group, a McLean, VA-based M&A advisory firm. He also was director of corporate finance with COMSAT International (subsequently merged with Lockheed Martin Global Telecommunications) where he participated in all aspects of M&A, business valuations, due diligence, and negotiations. As executive director at EuroCapital Corporation, he specialized in corporate finance projects involving multilateral financial institutions in Eastern Europe, Russia, and the Commonwealth of Independent States.
Mr. Brito holds an MBA, with honors, from The American University and a BS degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Florida. He also holds professional credentials as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Valuation Analyst® (CVA®), Certified Merger & Acquisition Professional (CMAP), and Certified Merger & Acquisition Advisor (CM&AA). Mr. Brito is a member of the CFA Institute, the Washington Society of Investment Analysts, the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts™, and the Middle Market Investment Banking Association. He is a Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Registered Representative (Series 7, 63), Investment Banking Representative (Series 79), and General Securities Principal (Series 24). |
