Session 1: Financials Forensic Investigations
Presenter: Jason Pierce
Program Description: There is a maxim in forensic accounting that investigations take twice as long as anticipated, yet the final report appears to have taken half the time. This session provides an overview of the forensic methodology to balance client expectations with the appropriate level of service. Each progressive layer allows for the milestones reached to be evaluated before expanding the scope.
Learning Objectives: After completing this session, attendees will be able to:
- Evaluate the costs of forensic analysis against the anticipated benefits

Session 2: Reducing Bias in Business Valuations
Presenter: Jason Pierce
Program Description: Valuation analysts are tasked with gathering information, analyzing data, summarizing findings, and communicating the results. This includes quantifying the expected cash flows and risks of the business through often conflicting and misrepresented information. This session provides an overview of bias, how it affects business valuations, and provides attendees with the standards and tools they need to confidently support their opinions when challenged.

- Determine techniques that they can take back to the office to use or avoid

Session 4: Business Valuation Reports Best Practices Round Table
Facilitator: Anja Bernier
Program Description: This round table will build on the CAP session report and reducing bias in business valuation presentation and delve into best practices for writing a compelling, unbiased business valuation report. Attendees are invited to verbally share their their own business valuation report approaches and share learnings from what has worked for them, or not worked for them, in the past.

- Identify what makes a valuation report compelling
- Use insights into how other practitioners approach their report writing and analysis
