We are pleased to announce the appointment of two new State Chapter Presidents: Judy F. Mason, a partner at MichaelSilver, was selected to lead the Illinois State Chapter; and AJ Lowring, a Manager at P&N Consulting Services Group, will lead the Louisiana State Chapter. We welcome our newest State Chapter Leadership and recognize their desire to volunteer their time and energy to helping our members get involved in the Association and providing opportunities for success.

Illinois State Chapter President—Judy F. Mason
Judy F. Mason, CPA, CVA, MST, MBA, is a partner with MichaelSilver, a full-service public accounting firm with offices in Skokie and downtown Chicago providing accounting, assurance, tax, and consulting services. She heads MichaelSilver’s valuation department overseeing the preparation of business valuations and has significant experience successfully defending valuation reports under audit.
Ms. Mason joined MichaelSilver in 1995 and has over 25 years of tax, accounting, business, and consulting, experience, serving closely held and start-up businesses, entrepreneurial and family-owned companies, including their owners and families. Her expertise is in federal, state, and local taxation, guiding clients through the complexities of conducting business in multiple states, particularly as it relates to income, sales, use and other taxes. She has successfully managed a broad range of federal income, and state sales and use tax audits for entities and individuals.

Ms. Mason received her bachelor of science degree from Valparaiso University. Her master of business administration, and master of science in taxation were earned at DePaul University. She has also written and edited multiple articles for a variety of professional journals, trade publications, and client newsletters.
Louisiana State Chapter President—AJ Lowring
AJ Lowring is a manager in the P&N Consulting Services Group. He joined the firm in 2014.
Mr. Lowring’s practice focuses on financial consulting and valuation advisory services. He assists clients with valuations of closely held businesses, transaction advisory, matrimonial dissolution analysis, and economic damage analysis. He has experience performing business valuations in estate and gift matters, litigation, transactions, and shareholder disputes. In addition, he has experience providing financial consulting services related to economic damages, forensic accounting and asset tracing, financial forecasting and modeling, and due diligence.
Mr. Lowring received his bachelor of science in management graduating Summa Cum Laude from Louisiana State University—Shreveport. He received his master of business administration in finance graduating Summa Cum Laude from Louisiana State University. He has also contributed to numerous written opinions related to economic damages and valuations of closely held businesses.
NACVA State Chapters
NACVA State Chapters provide valuable resources for members to enhance their status, credentials, and esteem in the field of performing valuations, financial litigation, and other related advisory services.To further this purpose, NACVA offers these services by establishing standards for membership in the Association, providing professional education and research, fostering practice development, upholding ethical and professional practices, enhancing public awareness of the Association and its members, and promoting working relationships with other organizations.
State Chapter events provide NACVA members valuable opportunities to: (1) promote CVAs, MAFFs, and NACVA within the community; (2) create an opportunity to network and develop mentoring relationships with other members; (3) deliver relevant, industry-related information, and educate members on the range of support services available as benefits of membership; and (4) receive CPE on timely and relevant topics pertinent to valuation and litigation forensic services.We encourage NACVA members to take advantage of these opportunities, share ideas, and educate one another on current issues facing the business valuation, litigation, and financial forensics/fraud consulting communities. To help facilitate and address such issues, NACVA provides live training and support materials for presentations from its CPE On-Demand library, Case Analysis in Person, Current Update in Valuations, Industry Standards and Ethics, and other relevant programs on topics of current interest.
