Public Accounting Firm in Woodlands, Texas is seeking an Advisory Associate

Public accounting firm with offices in 9 states in the Southeastern United States and over 1,600 professionals. Ranked as the 23rd largest public accounting firm in the country, continues to grow through mergers and acquisitions and continuing to gain new business in the areas of audit, tax, and advisory services.

Firm in the Woodlands, Texas area is seeking an Advisory Associate to add to our team. This position plays a key role in supporting a variety of clients through finance and accounting projects, including due diligence, mergers and acquisitions, business valuations, and other special financial assignments. The ideal candidate will establish and develop strong relationships with both current and potential clients.

Essential Functions:
  • Participate in due diligence engagements and business valuations related to tax and estate planning purposes, as well as acquisitions by private equity investor groups and strategic corporate buyers
  • Analyze financial results through reviewing accounting records and prepare and evaluate historical and proforma financial information
  • Prepare proposals, engagement letters, fieldwork questionnaires, and document request lists
  • Assist with preparation and drafting due diligence and business valuation reports
  • Analyze industry benchmark and economic and financial information in Excel
  • Partner with external accounting and tax professionals as required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 2 years of experience in Finance, Consulting, Mergers and Acquisitions, Business Valuations, and US GAAP, all within a Public Accounting Environment
  • Must be proficient with specific financial databases, such as Capital IQ and Mergerstat, and have advanced MS Excel skills using financial formulas, graphs, pivot tables, etc.
  • Ability to travel if/when required (approximately 10%)
