Program Description

Valuation ratios developed by business appraisers, sourced from transactional data, can be flawed and produce distorted values under the Market Approach. Information gleaned from the underlying raw financial data of guideline companies and used for developing valuation ratios to apply to the business being valued can sometimes result in a meaningless valuation.

In a litigation setting, a skilled cross-examiner—armed with loaded questions prepared by his or her own valuation expert—can often be successful in attacking the opposing party's valuation. Presenter Richard Wise will show how to surgically and convincingly discredit a valuation based on an improper analysis of a database.

Learning Objectives

After completing this webinar, attendees will be able to:

- Demonstrate that the raw mathematical data used for purposes of developing a valuation must be analyzed and considered in a manner that will produce meaningful results
