Report writing—it's where the rubber meets the road in our profession. But the best valuation analysis will be lost if it's not wrapped in readable content. And the best content may not be read if it's mired in boilerplate or buried in an unnecessarily long report. Thus, the hallmark of success for effective report writing is writing to the level of the intended user—no more, no less. This session focuses on the best practices of relevance, reliability, and replicability and compliance with professional standards.
After completing this course, participants will be able to:
- Recognize features of a well-written report by focusing on layout, content, style, and grammar
- Develop an efficient report layout
- Learn the proper use of appendices and exhibits
- Discover how valuation schedules can carry some of the report-writing load
- Review "live" report excerpts that illustrate the presentation
