Benefits of Membership
NACVA offers an expanding list of benefits and services to members and the business community. You are encouraged to take advantage of these services if you see an opportunity for yourself and the Association. Furthermore, we are continually expanding the breadth of services and products within each category. Currently, NACVA provides the following benefits and services, many at discounted prices for members:

1. An accreditation program in business valuation for Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) leading to the designation of Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) upon completion of training and a comprehensive examination;

2. An accreditation program in business valuation for experienced industry practitioners and government-employed valuators leading to the designation of Accredited Valuation Analyst (AVA) upon completion of training and a comprehensive examination;

3. An accreditation program for litigation and financial forensic consultants leading to the designation of Certified Forensic Financial Analyst (CFFA) upon completion of training and a comprehensive examination;

4. A program for professional development made available through CPE-approved seminars, conferences, symposiums, and self-study courses;

5. Published Standards of Professional Practice;

6. Weekly live webinars and a web-based library on timely topics of high interest to the professional community are made available for very reasonable prices, providing easily accessible and quality Continuing Professional Education (CPE);

7. Professional networking and affiliation opportunities through an annual conference and major training events, Board and Committee participation, and a directory of members entitled, Credentialed Member Directory;

8. Business valuation analytical and report writing software designed to increase efficiency, thoroughness and improve work product quality;

9. Local support and networking facilitated through State Chapters;

10. The Value Examiner® is a bimonthly magazine available in print and online, used for professional development and to create publishing opportunities for our members. Each issue includes an exam good for four hours of CPE credit;

11. A website with both timely and detailed information on all NACVA programs and services;

12. Income opportunities providing services to the Association and our members through participation in NACVA’s Support Groups;

13. The Association News is an online publication, which contains valuable information about the Association and our members. It also includes a confidential classified section to facilitate the staffing and relocation efforts of our members;

14. Technical advice offered through NACVA’s 250+ member Mentor Support Group (MSG) with specializations in business valuation, financial forensics, M&A, litigation support, and fraud consulting;

15. Staff support services available through NACVA’s Credentialed Subcontractors established to provide low-cost support from credentialed members desiring more BV work to members with more BV work than they can handle;

16. An online Technical Resource Database (TRD) which includes a compilation of valuation, litigation, financial forensics, fraud, M&A, and business advisory books, related publications, software, databases, and references various other sources;

17. Peer review available through our Recertification program—Case Analysis by Phone™, Case Analysis Analysis in Person (CAP), or the Quality Enhancement Questionnaire (QEQ);

20. Member surveys to provide insight and feedback to all members;

21. To help members attain both local and national exposure, we provide a Writer’s Guild to foster the opportunity to further their careers by authoring articles, case studies, and white papers in their area of expertise
