Advancing the Business Valuation & Financial Forensics Disciplines
Program Valuations Using the Transaction and Guideline Approach
Program Content

To properly perform a business valuation you should consider all three approaches to determining value: income, asset, and market. If you don’t, you could fall short in your value determination and find yourself in violation of established industry standards. For this reason, NACVA considers this training imperative. In this course you will learn how to use market data to value your subject company, how to locate and identify the best market comparables, calculate the appropriate adjustments to assure the best market fit, and determine which indicators of value make the most sense. Of equal importance, guideline companies should always be considered in a valuation and particularly if it is for an estate or gift. Where do you find them and how do you determine they fit your needs? This is one of the first courses ever to define the process of finding and properly using guideline publicly traded company data in your valuation methodology. Through the use of a case study, every valuator will find this needed training highly beneficial as well as practical.
