Program Content

John Brown, author of the No. 1 book on Exit Planning, How to Run Your Business So You Can Leave It In Style, and president of Business Enterprise Institute, will present a lively and informative Exit Strategies Workshop that outlines how business owner advisors can build, market, and profit from incorporating Exit Planning into their practices. The workshop will not only help advisors identify opportunities for growing their businesses through Exit Planning, but it also will provide in-depth training and a proven process for helping business owners successfully exit their businesses. The workshop will introduce attendees to The Seven Step Exit Planning Process which is a systemized process developed over the course of more than 25 years of experience helping business owners leave their companies when they want, to whom they want, and for the amount of money they need. The Seven Step Exit Planning Process includes: Setting Exit Objectives; Determining Value/Price; Preserving, Protecting, and Promoting Value; Converting Business Value to Cash; Selling the Business for a Note; Contingency Planning for Business; and Wealth Preservation. From the owner’s first step (Setting Ownership Objectives) to his or her last, (Wealth Preservation Planning) an advisor plays a key role in guiding the owner to a successful business transfer.
